General Description and Position Summary
Machine parts on CNC mills in air-conditioned shop. This job requires using GibbsCAM and writing your own G&M codes. Variety of setups. Opportunity to use boring mills and CNC lathes as required workload permits. Machining material per SolidWorks and blueprints. Efficient use of tools, indicators, calipers, etc. Be part of a growing team to help manufacture high quality O.E.M. machinery.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Program Solid models using GibbsCAM.
§ Program at the machines with using G&M codes.
§ Read blueprints and machine to print dimensions and tolerances.
§ Proficient at fixturing and setups. (we are a low volume high variety facility)
§ Able to communicate well with Engineers, machinist, assemblers and management.
§ At times, mark-up drawings and return to Engineers.
§ Examine and inspect first part produced to ensure quality.
§ Perform machine maintenance and use equipment properly.
§ Check to make sure the machine is in good working order before running the machine.
§ Capable of running the machine without crashing the Spidle headstock into parts or fixturing.
§ Abide by all safety standards.
§ Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately.
§ Keep all work areas clean and organized.
§ Attend all safety and production trainings.
§ Able to work overtime as required.
§ Demonstrates responsibility by taking ownership of work.
§ Getting the job done with sound decision making and meeting deadlines.
§ Strive for continues improvement every day.
§ Assure enough and accurate communication with team leaders and managers.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
§ Must have a positive, can-do, attitude.
§ Experience as a CNC machinist, or relevant role.
§ Significant hands-on experience working in a manufacturing environment.
§ Safely use overhead cranes.
§ Solid math skills, including measuring.
§ Able to read technical drawings.
§ Keen eye for detail. Hold self to a high standard of quality, taking pride in your work.
§ Able to perform physically demanding work – standing, bending, lifting 35 lbs. regularly
§ Good written and oral communication skills
§ Working knowledge of machinery.
§ Problem solving skills.
§ Ability to work in team environment.
§ Ability to work independently without supervision.
§ Self-Motivated with a willingness to provide enthusiasm and creative solutions to meeting our customer needs and achieving the company’s goals.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 7 years related experience
Associates Degree is a plus. Machining Certificate is a plus. Minimum 7 years related work experience is (e.g., assembly, fabrication and machining) required.
Experience and strong knowledge of:
Manufacturing
Machine Building
Able to read Detail Drawings and Assembly drawings and schematics. (blueprints)
Capable of using all tools. (micrometers, calipers, electrical meters, etc.)
